Like water that carves rock creating unexpected shapes, these works are born from an instinctive gesture that materializes new figures, evokes worlds lost in the night of time. Wandering with their gaze through the work, the viewer will discover familiar figures, imaginary monsters, and so much life. Oil on board prepared with primer and river sand.

Already in the title the provocation is evident, intended as provoking a positive attitude in the viewer, the desire of the viewer to seek form in what apparently is informal, leading them to look at the work with their own eyes and they will discover things that are theirs and not mine.

No matter how much you study, you will never understand contemporary art if you don't put something of yourself into it. In front of contemporary works, the gaze of the child without preconceptions that is surely still alive in you will help you and make you enjoy emotions you had forgotten.

EKPYROSIS AND PALINGENESIS

For the Stoics, the world is cyclically destroyed by a great fire (ekpyrosis) and then reborn (palingenesis) in an endless cycle. In this work, the burnt part contains figures of various kinds and in its entirety forms a human being who spreads his arms and is about to take flight. The green part, which represents rebirth, in turn contains hidden figures. Visible is the whale losing its pieces, a metaphor for death in the vision dear to Seneca, as one dies every day by living; death is not the final act but is already present in every day lived. In the painting, there are hidden figures such as the “contrarian” who is painted upside down.
